To mark the occassion, the Fund hosted an international seminar in The Hague, which focused on the role of commodities in development. The seminar attracted speakers and invited guests from international organisations, civil society organisations, NGOs, project partners and host country representatives.
Throughout 2009, on the heels of the global economic crisis and the attendant scarce availability of resources, the Fund sustained its mission and continued to finance and implement projects with ICB partners for a wide range of intervention measures directed at least developed countries (LDCs) and across many commodity sectors.
