The objective of the project was to develop and test an ‘easy-to-use’ and relatively cheap diagnostic kit for early detection of Citrus Tristeza Virus (CTV) and to disseminate related technology and techniques. Such a kit helped to detect and isolate affected areas at an early stage, thereby minimising the damage caused by Tristeza outbreaks. Main research activities took place in Portugal, while field testing activities took place in Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia.
