Enimiro, Uganda

Enimiro, founded in 2019, is a current investee of the CFC specializing in the processing and export of vanilla, coffee, and dried fruits, including pineapple and jackfruit. The company sources directly from a network of 4,300 smallholder farmers across Uganda and operates processing facilities in Kayunga for vanilla and dried fruits and in Kapchorwa for coffee. Through a vertically integrated and transparent business model, Enimiro procures raw materials from 14 districts across Western, Central, and Eastern Uganda and transports them to its processing facilities. The company employs a digital traceability system to ensure compliance with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and applies a cost-plus pricing model that provides farmers with a 65% premium. 

In partnership with Dr. Oetker, Enimiro delivers technical assistance to farmers, promoting sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices that improve yields and product quality. Its operations are supported by internationally recognized certifications, including EU Organic, Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, HACCP, FSSC 22000, and SEDEX membership. In 2021, the CFC approved a USD 800,000 trade finance facility for Enimiro, which successfully supported business growth and increased incomes for smallholder suppliers and employees. Building on these results, the CFC approved a new USD 1.5 million trade finance facility in 2025 to support the company’s continued expansion.
