Statement on the Passing of Mr. Wilson Andrade
Salvador, Brazil, 09 August 2026 — It is with profound sadness that the Common Fund for Commodities learned of the passing of Mr. Wilson Andrade, Executive Director of the Bahian Association of Forest Based Companies (ABAF), Salvador, Bahia. Brazil.
We extend our deepest sympathies to his family, loved ones, colleagues, and all those who mourn his loss.
Mr. Andrade will be remembered with great respect and affection for his distinguished service as a member and Chairperson of the Consultative Committee. His wisdom, commitment, and dedication made a lasting contribution to the Committee.
His passing is a significant loss to the cultivated forest sector, the natural fibres sector, and the field of international relations, to which he contributed with distinction, leadership, and passion. We honour his memory by reaffirming our commitment to carrying forward the mission to which he devoted so much of his time and energy. His outstanding contribution and enduring legacy will continue to inspire our work.
